I ran a company for 2 years that specialised in building custom show cars. These are some more from that period.

I designed the lambo hinge conversion myself. This version was then modifies to be remote control.

I have worked for dozens of different modelmakers over the last 12 years. Here are more of the projects that I have worked on.

Early work

My first job out of college was working for Gavin Lindsay studios. It was a great oportunity as it was one of the top modelmakers for advertising. The models made where photographed with meadium format cameras so they had to be perfect. Here are some of the projects I worked on.

College Final

For my final I wanted to push myself. I decided to sculpt this robot. Not being an organic shape made it much harder than what I had done up till then. I sculpted it in clay and learnt my first lesson in the different types of silicone. I used poly addition silicone which does not like water and so it didnt go off. I ended up re-sculpting the main body which ment I did not have the time I needed to do the mechanics foe the moving parts of the robot. Knowing your materials if very important.

College work 94-96 cont.

The creation of fantastical beasts and beings is fun but not always hugely challanging. When you sculpt something that does not exist in reality, poeple dont have a pre conceaved idea of what that thing should look like. You can get away with alot. So when you are replicating reality you have to pay attension to the details alot more.
I myself have never followed the architectual modelmaking path but I do have a great deal of respect for the patiance and attension to detail of those that do.

I started out after leaving school wanting to be a graphic designer, but after 4 years of 2d design work and qualifications I realised that my real passion was 3d. So I found an Design modelmaking HND higher course at bournemouth institute of art and design. This is some of the work I did during my 2 years there.
I was part of I live roleplay sociaty while I was at collage so I became keen on costume design, especialy masks.
